Abstraction from drawing for children (8 – 14 years)

There’s no right or wrong way of doing art! This workshop is a fun way of exploring ways of creating abstract art through observation and mark making using charcoal and paint with artist Claire Jackson-Mee. Claire is a local artist seen weekly on Porthleven market and exhibiting annually in the Old Lifeboat House.
Get away from drawing things realistically and learn how to record observations with freedom and then how to develop the work with paint.
Weather permitting, the workshop will run out on the harbour head but if the weather is too wet or windy, the same process will be explored indoors with the artist’s source materials. With special thanks to RGB who have kindly supplied materials to create easels and drawing boards.
Materials will be provided but an apron or old clothes are advisable.
